Vancouver Island

August 15th  2013

This morning we got up early for the low tide. We walked out of our timeshare to the beach.

There were oysters for the picking and lots of small crab scurrying as we approached. They seemed like a perfect meal for birds but we didn't see any.

In order to get over a river flowing into the bay we took a path inland which was just delightful.

Little did we know it would lead us to Serious Coffee

After a triple grande non-fat latte and scrumptious cranberry muffin we were ready to head back to the timeshare. Along the way we explored the Craig Heritage Park Museum.

James Craig was the original founder of this area back in the 1860s.  His main claim to fame was the camp ground and auto park he built on the bay which attracted hordes of yearly tourists. Here's a typical cabin

The museum had lots of old stuff. Here are a couple of my favorites

Five miles later we were ready for lunch and a nap. This is my kind of vacation.
