Today we visited The Butchart Gardens |
This is my first and Barbara's third time. This place is huge and beautifully landscaped. Originally it was a limestone quarry so there is lots of elevation changes which made for great picture taking. |
Those two trees straddling the walkway are
called the "Trees of Life".

Barbara went nuts snapping picture |
For us non-flower enthusiasts, they provided a
chess board

On the way back to Victoria we noticed parafoil kites sticking up over the cliff. Time to investigate. Turned the car around, parked and walked to the bluff over looking the water. There we saw maybe two dozen surfboard sailors skimming on the water at a blazing speed and some times lifting into the air 20 feet or more. Very exciting. |
The next morning we boarded a ferry to Port Angeles and the uneventful 2 day drive home. While putting together this travelog I was amazed at all the adventures we experienced on this 23 day road trip and grateful we are able to travel this wonderful country. |
