Today we drove to Grouse Mountain. Along the way we had intended to stop at an experience called the Capilano Suspension Bridge but the parking was full. Grouse Mountain is a ski resort that they have embellished with all kinds of fun things to do in the summer. To get to the fun things you must take an aerial cable car to the top of the mountain. Don't close your eyes because the view of Vancouver and the harbor is breathtaking. |

At the top is a wonderful complex for skiers and hikers. |
I suspect this is an ice rink in the winter. |
Once on top we passed up all the scrumptious places to eat to attend the lumberjack demonstration. Turned out to be more comedy show which was loved by all. |
After a bite to eat we watched the wild bird show. We got to see trainers fly a golden eagle, hawk, owl and vulture up close. Great show. |
Next was the wild bear show but we ran out of time. |
That evening we walked to Gastown, one of the trendy areas for shopping, dining and clubbing. Our target restaurant wasn't open yet and didn't have an inviting menu so we chose a popular restaurant (Chilli Winston) with sidewalk seating. Bad choice. The only good thing I can say is the bottle of Chilean Pinot Noir was excellent. |
